1. Homework will be assigned at all grade levels
2. Studying should be a priority with each student
3. Homework is intended to be completed during after-school hours
4. Homework will include mandatory assignments, which will contribute to the student's overall grade
5. Students should set aside a special time and use this time consistently.  If there is no homework, the time should be spent leisurely reading or reviewing class material
6. Parent's primary responsibility will be to create a home environment that facilitates student self-study
7. Ultimately, the purpose of homework is to create an independent learner

Responsibilities

 
STUDENT:
-Know what homework has been assigned
-Set a special time and place to study at home.
-Return completed homework to school when due
-Know that incomplete homework receives no credit
-Be an independent learner and do your own work

PARENT:
   -Provide a quiet study place, consistent time, and materials for completion
-Look for homework daily- it would be realistic to expect your child to average 1-2   hours of work per night
-If your child has no homework, studying time can be used for pleasure reading or     reviewing class notes
-Communicate any problems of completion to the teacher
   -Be positive and encouraging when discussing the topic of homework...
    Praise their efforts and good study habits- this may be the key to success
    -Support self-study and refrain from doing your child's work

 
TEACHER:
    -Clear and concise homework assignments
   -State the purpose of the assignment and how the assignment might best
     be carried out
   -Collect and check all completed homework and provide intermittent             instructional feedback
-Use homework as a way of measuring student progress, assigning appropriate credit,   and monitoring the instructional program
   -Communicate concerns or positive progress with parents

Child Advisory Study Team (C.A.S.T.)
The Child Advisory Study Team is comprised of the school counselor (coordinator), principal, and all of the student's teachers.  Students may be re
